I have been speaking with reemul about PoP. He gave me the link to download the PoP game that should have everything but not the original pak files from original Hexen 2.

The file that i have got from him i have myself uploaded to a private server.

The thing is, this file contains PoP pak5.pak and pak6.pak files and all it needs for PoP to play are original Hexen_2 pak0.pak and pak1.pak files also as original UQE Hexen_2 pak3.pak and pak4.pak files.

So all 6 pak files are in order but when i launch the game, there comes an error, that reports:

And btw, what are  "progs" files? They never were either in original Hexen_2 or in UQE Hexen_2, and if i delete them nothing changes.

Btw, why is this "portals" directory neede at all? I find it unimportant because all pak files and the cfg i paste in the "data1" and the game still works.

Make sure you have the latest UQE Hexen2.. I think if you downloaded anywhere after 10 August, then it should be upto date.

Extract the ZIP file into a new directory. Also download the UQE Documentation, it outlines everything.

Then, copy the original PAK0.PAK and PAK1.PAK from your hexen2 /data1/ into this newly extracted directory into the new /data1/ directory.

Then, copy the missionpack PAK3.PAK from your hexen2 /portals/ into this newly extracted directory into the new /portals/ directory.

You should be set-up now:

To run original Hexen2, use "hexen2.exe" or "glhexen2.exe"

To run PoP, use "hexen2.exe -portals" or "glhexen2.exe -portals"

Lemme know if this works.

What i ask you or anyone else here is:

Download the PoP files those i have linked (8 MB only).

Copy your original Hexen2 pak files to PoP Data1 directory and look if the game works then.

The game should work after you paste the original Hexen2 pak files to PoP/Data1.

Now check out why it's does not load something.

I have my own original PoP CD here and all is working fine.. the PAK file for PoP's size should be 49089114 bytes and it should have the name pak3.pak and should be placed in the "/portals/" folder.

Start the game with "glhexen2.exe -portals". If this doesnt work, you might have a modified/changed version, or youve missed something.
