But there is a Problem:, r_speeds (nomber of visible polys) will increase insanely and the compile-time would be several days I quess.

I know the terrain is very sucky. most of brushes are made with the quick object makers of QuArk. Now I can do it a lot better and more detailed even with better performance.

I know no storylne yet.

There will be puzzles;)

Progress is really slow at the moment, because I have to finish a quake1 map until 30.March

Nice frst post:D

RE: Hexen II model editor

Hey h2rudl, I just played through what was available of your map, and it was awesome! I'd love to see it when it's complete, although I have a bit of criticism:

1: Lack of breakable objects- even the windows are static.
2: pyramid shaped hills- too slanted.
3: No real quest elements or storyline- big deal, don't really care.
4: Complete lack of puzzles. One thing I loved about your map was the fact that it was action oriented, unlike the original Hexen, which left me wandering aimlessly to find what to do next. I thought your map was really fun, although some slight puzzle elements might have helped.

Other than that, it was awesome! Keep it up!

Oh, right, first post. Unfortunately I have to rebuild everything. And I also have very little time because I have to do civilian service. (Instead of going to the military)
It's the map I started mapping so im unsatisfied with the amateurish brushwork. I can do it a lot better now. I will do a complete rebuild, but that takes a lot of time :)

http://rudl.quaddicted.com/

RE: Hexen II model editor

Hey thanks!
But I already am using an older version of worldcraft. I've tried both editors you mentioned but Worldcraft suits me best.

But thanks anyway for the reply. I'd like to see some work in progress of your map.

RE: Hexen II model editor

Hi It's nice to see that I m not the only one who is working on a hexen II map :D

So I have some tips for hexen 2 mapping:

1)when compiling u need to add the command "-watervis" to the qbsp tool. Otherwise the water is not vised!

2)QuArK and BSP are the only editors that support hexen2 and are more or less up to date.
There are a lot of options in QuArK that you have to set otherwise you will run into a lot of compiling errors and warnigns and HOM effects.
Example: QuArK actually does not suit for quake and HexenII because it tends to write a lot of decimals to the .map file. I recommend to set the output map format to classic quake (= no decimals.)
Bsp is a little bit more conservative with less features, but very clean and stable.
There are some very good editors for quake like gtkradiant or ogier. They do not work for hexen2 but it is possible do do the brushwork with them and finish the map later with QuArK or BSP.

3) for questions I can recommend
http://www.celephais.net/board/forum.php

RE: Hexen II model editor

Yeah everything works. I've googled my *** off but it seems those programs are very hard to find. Does anyone happen to know where I can find such a program?
